Accept donations through GitHub Sponsors? #8994
Comments
@maxkatz6 - sorry for the direct ping - let me know if there's a better channel to go through or person to tag |
I just found out tomorrow is the last day I can submit a project name to be funded - can this be added? |
@danwalmsley maybe you are more the person to contact about this? |
@derekantrican we previously discussed GitHub sponsors, but didn't really liked the idea as "it's just yet another open collective". But it's worth to think again about it. |
@maxkatz6 Thanks. I'd like to donate - my company is giving me $500 to donate to an open source project, but that's one of the few stipulations. Today is the last day I can choose a project - let me know |
@derekantrican we are going through the process but will take a week to get approval unfortunately! |
Ok good to know. I'll see what I can do with my company and see if they'll accept OpenCollective in the meantime |
Ok, I confirmed with my company that submissions have to be in today, but it won't be processed until Oct 20ish so the approval process should be fine |
Any updates on the approval process? |
My company accepted the submission for Avalonia to receive a donation! Of course, this is still pending finalization of the GitHub Sponsors set up. Let me know if you're having any trouble on that end and I can confer with them.
@danwalmsley as FYI |
Yup! Looks like this can be closed |
Looks like the donation has gone through (listed now at https://github.com/orgs/microsoft/sponsoring?page=2)! Thanks! |
I want to support Avalonia - my company is actually willing to make a donation on my behalf (because of our usage of Avalonia) but the requirement is that it must be fundable through GitHub Sponsors - can you set this up?
