Windows 11 installation not possible on vp2420 with v1.2.1-rc6 #1260
Comments
I have seen something like this before on the MSI, but it was dependent on how the Windows installer ISO was loaded. If you dd the Windows installer ISO image to USB Flash Drive, when asking where to install to, it failed to find the SATA SSD, but if you loaded the ISO via Ventoy, it worked. No idea why, but you can test that if you want to confirm my findings. |
One can't just DD Windows ISO on USB. It doesn't work like that. When done that way, Windows installer doesn't see most of the files needed for installation. Either Rufus, Venoty or Windows Media Creation Tool can work. Not sure if there are other mechanisms. |
Use https://woeusb.com/ or if you have a Windows machine on hand, use the USB installation media creator on Windows |
@matmacieje any update? |
@miczyg1 I have success with USB stick prepared with MediaCreationTool, still no luck with neither preseed installers nor rufus (multiple option sets tested). |
WoeUSB should work when preparing boot media on Linux. |
