The material the map uses is nature/water_riverbed01, I think this is also due to the Half-Life 2 Update. EP1 and EP2 have the same file but different contents.

If I override the material from my gamemode then it is fine so it must be using the ep1 version. I think the best choice would be to have Garry's Mod override this so its always the EP2 version, I also looked at which EP1 maps use this one and I couldn't find any map using the material so it might be a left over so its probably safe to generally override this.
