Guidelines

  • I have searched the issue tracker for open and closed issues that are similar to the feature request I want to file, without success.
  • I have searched the documentation for information that matches the description of the feature request I want to file, without success.
  • This issue contains only one feature request.

Problem Description

Videos, after being loaded, no longer start from the pause state. Instead they started automatically playing, which is unwanted behavior.

For clarity:

  1. This is a separate and unrelated issue to autoplay.

  2. Automatic playing after video load, prevents user from adjusting configuration settings to what they like.

Proposed Solution

Videos, after loading should be in a pause state. Otherwise, users should have an optional setting, in which they can choose.

Alternatives Considered

  1. Start from pause state.
  2. Have an optional setting that users can choose the behavior of the video, after is loads.

Additional Information

Videos that automatically start playing by themselves can be very irritating to users and prevent adjustment of settings to what they want, before they start.

This used to work how I wanted (Settings for auto-play were followed). Recent update, videos always auto-play, ignoring the Settings.

Same issue for me too. I tried toggling the relevant setting off and back on, in case it had gotten "stuck" somehow when updating the version, but no effect.
