Type 18 from the NIST Standard needs to be included into the INTERPOL Implementation.
It needs to be compared/aligned with the current XML format used to exchange DNA profiles.

We need to leave the door open to SNPs while STRs are the ones used so far.

Suggestion for the future: People are using MPS now, so you can include the STRs with their lengths (with their sequences if available for example as an additional data only) to increase discrimination.

This is postponed as discussions need to be held first with the DNA Experts as to what would be the best way to integrate DNA profiles within the NIST XML files, noting that the ISO 19794-14 is already being used along with INTERPOL's own format/standard.
