New to Nostr. Currently using Nostrid client for Windows.
First impressions:
Nostr a great solution to problems endemic to centrally controlled social media
Signal-to-noise ratio will drive away most new users (EVERY client needs a feature to block spam bots)
Started looking at Nostr because it is conceptually very similar to something I've been working on for awhile. There are several ideas from my work that I think could be beneficial to the "Nostrosphere" but haven't absorbed enough yet to know where to start.
Here are the top 3:
Proof-of-Identity Ownership: Allows reclamation of a stolen Identity. Addresses the inevitable case of compromised private keys.
Client-end Trust Scoring: Modeled on human interactions where trust is based on 3 factors; reputation, experience, and personal bias. "Trust those that are trusted by those you trust most (until you know better)". Trust scoring allows clients to automatically filter out the noise.
Service Provider Cooperative Clustering: Defends against DDoS attacks on servers using a WAR ("whack-a-rodent") defense. The closest analogy in Nostr would be a distributed cluster of independent relays cooperating under shared "alliance identity".
I'd enjoy discussing these and other ideas with Nostr community members.
