Tab and space in Minecraft on Mac

When pressing tab you can't use the spacebar, I have been told this is a java problem of some sort. Would love it if this could be fixed.

When pressing tab and another key on the keyboard (like w) you cannot use the spacebar - you can use the spacebar if it and tab are the only things being held down

Still an issue in recent Minecraft versions as of April 2024.
