Improve README for external contributors - in particular for people who may not have heard of us before but get pointed to our repo by someone else (e.g. RTPs, data experts from GLAM and other communities). Specifically:

-[ ] add explicit 'join us' section
-[ ] improve info on what we need help with and contributing guidlines
-[ ] add info anout our Slack and how to join
-[ ] perhaps mention when meetings are happening
