Following up with my suggestion regarding having a transparent color - once it was available would like to be able to select an image and utilize it as a test sprite to see how it would look over the map that was drawn; similar in style to how you've done several of your videos where you draw a map and have a character that can move around on the screen - but instead of having to export, generate code, spin up separate process - have the ability to preview/test this sprite on a map so you can cut down the round-tripping in trying to fine tune things.

these are all good suggestions Cory, I'll see what I can do. But when you
have some time check out cosmigo pro motion. It's not open source but there
is a free version. It does probably all the things you are looking for,
i have a bunch of things i am working on so if you don't see anything
implemented for a white it's because i am focusing on finishing thoee first.
I have to add scripting to Map Editor and Sprite Importer. The scripting is
very important because no matter how many formats i support there are
hundreds of classic systems I can't and don't know how to support. the
scripting gives everyone the ability to support their own systems.
the Map Editor needs some features improved, I just managed to make it work
but it's not where i want it to be.
the final component will be an sfxr editor for sounds, I haven't even
began looking at how to implement it.
And all this will take time but it looks like interest is picking up. I
think I owe some of that success to you! thank you!
