Automatically test tutorial code

Automatically test the tutorial code in the docs to avoid potential regressions.

One option is to maintain the tutorial as a Jupyter notebook, and then include that in Sphinx using https://docs.readthedocs.io/en/stable/guides/jupyter.html. We can then use the same testing mechanism that we use for our other notebooks (nbmake).
