We could add groups in the argument parser to improve the help message (https://docs.python.org/3/library/argparse.html#argument-groups).

Some reasonable groups would be:

logging/debugging
performance related
bash compatibility (+a, -a, -x, -v)
internal config (assert_compiler_success, ...)
