Change motion recording parameter to a percentage

Now recording can be set to motion as true|false
Can it be possible to trigger motion recording to a percentage level (or a duration or ???) of what we see in the review screen?
This will allow us to record motion of a missing tracked object like a people or a car but not of a rain drop

What you are seeing on the timeline is a calculation with scaling to better visualize when motion occurred. Frigate never saves anything about where motion occurred or how much of the frame the motion took up.

The existing motion parameters (threshold, contour_area, and lightning_threshold) already can accomplish filtering a raindrop from a larger object.

I was thinking it was somewhere related to "motion score" because it was pretty accurate to point me when a car or a person is not detected on the street.
If I understand this "scaling" indicate the duration of the motion. Would it be possible to keep motion recording according to the duration of the motion? It will not avoid continuous motion recording during a heavy rain but it can help to avoid mosquitos

I tune that parameter dynamically through mqtt (to try to make the night detection better). I need to send more night snapshots to frigate+ to increase that. I also add motion mask for the trees.
If I made the detection less sensitive I will increase the risk to miss events
I keep motion recording and check if something is not detected after

I do the same thing. In general, this is how we've designed the workflow with motion review mode. In previous versions of Frigate, it was tedious to review time periods where motion was detected and an object might have been missed. Now, it's easy to visually see and quickly scrub through, then jump into History to submit frames to Frigate+ for training.

May be avoid that if object is just crossing the fov of the camera during a few msec/frames (I am aware that there is also the notion of recording segment duration).

This isn't currently possible with the way motion detection and recording work together, but motion detection will be rewritten at some point in the future so perhaps this can be a consideration.
