This month, cdnjs used a huge consumption of 3.84 PB of data to serve these requests. 📤
That's just under 124 terabytes of data and 7.0 billion requests each day (averaged). 🤯
In January, each request to cdnjs used only 17.59 KB of data on average. 🔍
Library highlights
All the top 5 assets on the CDN remained the same this month, with WebFontLoader (1.6.28/webfontloader.js) taking
first place at 8.9 billion requests for the file.
jQuery (3.3.1/jquery.min.js) remained in second place with just over 6 billion requests for the file, and
FontAwesome in third and fourth place with their main CSS file (4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css) and their main font
file (4.7.0/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2), accounting for 9.6 billion requests between the two files.
Between the top 5 assets on cdnjs this month, they resulted in 28 billion requests in January, compared to the 25
billion in December.
These 5 assets also resulted in a massive 741.6 TB of bandwidth being consumed in January, accounting for almost
20% of the total bandwidth consumption seen on the entire CDN in the month.
As with last month, jQuery remained the top library overall across the top 100 assets this month, receiving 15.2
billion requests across the 11 jQuery files in the top 100.
FontAwesome jumped up to being the second most popular library overall in the top 100 assets, swapping with GSAP
which has now dropped down to third place. FontAwesome totalled 12.9 billion requests across 9 files in the top 100,
and 9.5 billion requests for the 15 files GSAP has in the top 100.

Total number of requests
The first important stat that we are given is the total number of requests sent to cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
Cloudflare provides this number to us at a 1% sample for the whole month, giving 2,184,104,375 at 1%.
When multiplied up to 100%, this results in cdnjs serving approximately 218,410,437,500 requests in January.
Over 218 billion requests or roughly 7.0 billion requests every day of January. 📈
This is a slight increase compared to the 211 billion requests that we saw in December, and an increase per day of 200
million requests (going from 6.8 billion per day last month to 7.0 this month). This also takes us back closer to the
request volume we saw in November with 7.2 billion requests per day.
Total bandwidth usage
Another great stat that Cloudflare has given us again is the bandwidth usage for the cdnjs.cloudflare.com domain.
This number, like total requests, is provided at a 1% sample for the month and in gigabytes: 38,424.2 GB.
When multiplied up to be 100%, this produces the estimate of 3,842,420.0 GB of bandwidth used for this month by
cdnjs, or 3.84 PB.
This gives cdnjs a huge bandwidth consumption of 3.84 petabytes of data for requests this month. 🤯
This is also a slight increase from last month, where we saw 3.81 PB of data consumed. Per day, we consumed 123 TB of
bandwidth in January, and 122 TB in December. Our per request bandwidth consumption went from 17.99 KB to 17.59 KB,
which is great to see.
