This month (March 2021), cdnjs served over 219 billion requests. 🖥
This month, cdnjs used a huge consumption of 3.95 PB of data to serve these requests. 📤
That works out to over 127 TB of data and 7.1 billion requests every day (averaged). 🤯
In March, each request to cdnjs (on average) used only 18.00 KB of data. 🔍
Library highlights
For the fourth month in a row, the top five assets on cdnjs this month remained the same, with WebFontLoader
(1.6.28/webfontloader.js) leading at 7.9 billion requests for the file, or 255 million requests each day on average.
This single file only accounted for 43 TB of bandwidth consumption on cdnjs in March, or 1% of the total bandwidth
consumption for the month. Last month WebFontLoader received 256 million requests per day, which decreased very
slightly to 255 million requests per day this month.
The top library overall in the top 100 assets was jQuery once again, receiving 498 million requests per day on
average to the 10 files it has in the top 100 on cdnjs, or 15.4 billion requests over the month.
Across the 10 files, jQuery accounted for 631 TB of bandwidth consumption in March. In second place based on the top
100 assets was font-awesome with 12.6 billion requests across the 9 files it has in the top 100 assets this month.
GSAP remained in third place overall with 12.5 billion requests consuming 346 TB of bandwidth across the 20 files in
the top 100 cdnjs assets.

Total number of requests
The first important stat that we are given is the total number of requests sent to cdnjs.cloudflare.com.
Cloudflare provides this number to us at a 1% sample for the whole month, giving 2,192,886,120 at 1%.
When multiplied up to 100%, this results in cdnjs serving approximately 219,288,612,000 requests in March.
Over 219 billion requests or roughly 7.1 billion requests every day of March. 📈
This was a large jump compared to last month, but this is to be expected as February was a shorter month and so had a
lower total requests. Looking back two months though, we can see that we've still had a nice increase from the
218 billion requests we saw in January. Looking at the average per day, we increased from the 7.0 billion per day seen
in January and February to 7.1 billion per day on average this month.
Total bandwidth usage
Another great stat that Cloudflare has given us again is the bandwidth usage for the cdnjs.cloudflare.com domain.
This number, like total requests, is provided at a 1% sample for the month and in gigabytes: 39,474.97 GB.
When multiplied up to be 100%, this produces the estimate of 3,947,497.0 GB of bandwidth used for this month by
cdnjs, or 3.95 PB.
This gives cdnjs a huge bandwidth consumption of 3.95 petabytes of data for requests in March. 🤯
Similar to the story with the bandwidth this month, there was a large jump compared to last month due to the increased
number of days in the month, but when comparing the average per-day bandwidth consumption for the CDN we can see a nice
increase from 125 TB consumed per day to 127 TB per day in March. This is the second largest per-day consumption cdnjs
has seen in a month, only beaten by the 130 TB per day seen in September of last year, 2020.

These are provided at a 1% sample for the whole of March.
Bandwidth is measured in gigabytes.
This data, as well as previous months' data, is available in the SQLite data.db file.
