Thanks for the guide. Just wanted to ask if it is possible to use grub instead of syslinux and how to go about doing that? Any help is much appreciated. I am stuck at the very last section as my computer wouldn't boot with the USB.

Hey! Sorry for the late response and hope a solution wasn't in urgent need, GRUB can definitely be used instead of syslinux though it will be a bit more involved/complex. I would guess that the problem you're having is a problem with UEFI vs. Legacy BIOS boot mode... if you can access your PC's BIOS setup screen (usually spamming F2 after POST before your OS starts will get you in, though the key might very depending on your computer manufacturer) check if it's booting in Legacy or UEFI mode, if possible change it and try again.
I tried that but it would start to throw kernel panic error. As for the syslinux, it wouldn't even boot (or rather the BIOS fails to detect the boot loader)
