SignalR dotnet client version doubts

I'm working on a project with an interesting version mismatch scenario and need some clarity on potential compatibility issues:

Server Setup:

• .NET 8 WebAPI project
• Using both WebAPI controllers for data persistance and SignalR hub for notifications
• SignalR is using the built-in version that comes with .NET 8

Client Setup:

• .NET 4.8 WPF/ Console applications
• Using Microsoft.AspNetCore.SignalR.Client version 1.1.0/1.0.0 (yes, the very first .NET Core SignalR client version)
• Due to certain constraints, we're stuck with this older client version for now

Current Status:

• Main functionalities are working fare working fine between .NET 8 server and the Microsoft.AspNetCore.SignalR.Client v1.1.0 client
• Initially assumed client version needed to match server major version, but that doesn't seem to be the case, things work fine

Questions:

1. What potential compatibility issues should I be concerned about using such an old client version with a modern server?
2. Where can I find comprehensive release notes for SignalR .NET client versions? Would like to understand what we're missing out on.
3. Has anyone else successfully maintained this kind of version gap in production? Any gotchas to watch out for?
