Room selection hitbox behaviour on macOS can be weird

Steps to reproduce

This particular bug does require some conditions to be met for it to trigger. I was not able to trigger this with my MBP Trackpad, but consistently with my Logitech M557 BT mouse.

If you scroll a significant way up to the top of the Chats list, six rooms in my case (the seventh and eighth are still on the bottom of the list), clicking the mouse on the top half of any room selects the room above it in the list. Scrolling less than six rooms to the top of the list allows you to use the entire vertical height of the room cell to select that particular cell. Same if you don't scroll all the way to the top of the list.

Adding that you can often see when it is broken as the last (partially) visible cell is blank when it should have some content.

Would love to know how we can fix this. There were a handful of small fixes for the same thing on iOS including #2589 but they didn't help on macOS ☹️
