Steps to reproduce

  1. Opened a room.
  2. Saw two messages, with a read-up-to-marker between them
  3. Realised that the second message was an edit fallback as it began with an * - and the msg was almost the same contents.

Outcome

What did you expect?

Edits should be displayed as an edit, never show edit fallbacks

What happened instead?

The 2nd message wasn't recognised as an edit, and instead was shown as a fallback.

Application version

849

Will you send logs?

Yes
