I am using Flameshot on both Kali Linux (GNOME) and Ubuntu (GNOME). I noticed that:

Flameshot behaves differently in Kali Linux GNOME and Ubuntu GNOME.

Installation Type

Linux, MacOS, or Windows Package manager (apt, pacman, eopkg, choco, brew, ...)

Operating System type and version

Ubuntu 24.04, Kali Linux 2024.2

Description

In Kali GNOME, clicking the tray icon directly opens the screenshot selection area

Image

Meanwhile, Ubuntu GNOME shows a menu with options like "Take Screenshot," "Open Launcher," etc.

Image

I prefer the Kali behavior, where clicking the tray icon directly starts the screenshot tool without showing a menu.

Steps to reproduce

No response

Screenshots or screen recordings

Ubuntu 24.04, and Kali Linux both run the same version of Flameshot

Flameshot v12.1.0 (Debian 12.1.0+ds-1)
Compiled with Qt 5.15.13

System Information

Ubuntu 24.04

Kali Linux 2024.2
