Is it possible to preserve ConfigMap literal blocks when using postBuild.substituteFrom

I am trying to to substitute code which is stored in a ConfigMap as a literal block | .
When using postBuild.substituteFrom to replace a variable in a manifest with the code from the ConfigMap it becomes a folded >
