When I have this option enabled and the exported slide's name has restricted symbols in Figma, e.g. ":" in my case, the file of the reference image is being named without them and therefore is missed by After Effects by the end of the import. So you have to relink the file manually each time. I guess it could be fixed by AEUX linking and referencing to the file after renaming it due to filesystem restrictions and not before.
