With Metal 3 ray tracing functionality has been enhanced, and there is on going discussion of implementing support for VK_KHR_aceleration_structure and VK_KHR_ray_tracing_pipeline in MoltenVK for Mac OS.
It would be great to see this working with GPRT, so we should be keeping an eye on it.
At the moment, GPRT compiles on Mac, but throws a "ERROR_INCOMPATIBLE_DRIVER" when trying to create a vulkan instance. This occurs before requesting any ray tracing functionality. We should see what the hold up is there.
