IIRC, we decided on this purely for backwards compatibility. Otherwise e.g. CI automated jobs could break for people. @oshogbo Do I remember correctly? |

Yes, generally, 'latest' refers to the most recent Gramine version, not necessarily the underlying OS. However, we have agreed on upgrading to a newer Ubuntu version. We hadn't realized this before the release, and afterwords we were concerned that making such a change post-release could potentially cause issues with user's Dockerfiles. In the end, we agreed that we should make a proper announcement and then switch to the new Ubuntu version. |

Is there any good reason why
gramineproject/gramine:latest
Docker image is still based on Ubuntu 20.04 instead of Ubuntu 22.04?I was a bit surprised to find out that I had to use
gramineproject/gramine:1.6-jammy
(orgramineproject/gramine:stable-jammy
which is the same thing) instead ofgramineproject/gramine:latest
