Even though Android Firefox picks up the icon from the manifest file, it doesn't fill the space on Android 10 when Chrome does:

At least one other Android 10 user gets square icons that look as expected instead of the broken round ones in OP.

Now that the background is transparent, this is somewhat less of an issue, but it still looks quite bad compared to what Chrome produces.
