After selecting the NDI Polaris as the tracking device in the preference window, the red/orange models for displaying the visibility of the navigation gadgets were not created in the 3D surface.

This needs to be investigated further because it was observed once but not replicated.

The markers gadgets are only created if Polaris detects at least one marker. For example, if I import the wrong .ROM files and try to navigate, no markers gadgets will be shown, alerting that there is something wrong with the .ROM files. There is no way to check if the user imported the right files, in this sense, forces the user to reconnect to the camera.

The correct files were imported. Do you mean that at least one marker has to be visible to the camera when connecting to Polaris, otherwise those green/orange indicators won't appear?

No, they only appear after detecting at least one marker, at any time.
