Freehand strokes altered significantly [v5.4.0] #158
Comments
Hi Is that a solution that works for you? |
You need to select the move tool or point tool to be able to alternate linecaps. |
If I go for a scribbled type of style the auto adjustment from freehand will not let me. As you can see in the video I can not deselect the the other options from freehand. I've tried numerous options in the freehand stroke section. I wish the documentation would give additional info and tips for tools. For someone new to this software I have not seen an explanation why it automatically adjusts like that after the stroke is done. I don't see any freehand tutorials in the Tutorial section either that would help a beginner such as myself. The PNG image of the tools looks outdated as well From a beginner's perspective on Birdfont, The UI feels more simple and intuitive than FontForge, and more beginner friendly too. That being said, I do hope ease of use is kept in mind. BirdFont.Freehand.single.stroke.letters.mp4 |
Which option is it that you want to deselect?
|
OS: Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon edition
Bird Font version: 5.4.0
Using freehand drawing results in some annoying significant changes to it once a single stroke is done. Sometimes the round cap for freehand drawing ends up flat and point when the stroke is done. There is also the inability to deselect any of the caps or joints.

Sorry if it's not actually a bug
