Even Imagemagick with its -strip switch leaves a surplus within GIF files, whereas
Gifsicle offers --no-comments, --no-names, --no-extensions, --no-app-extensions
to strip a few bytes more. But I’m concerned about consequences of using all of them.

Could you be so kind to tell if my concerns are justified? What’s the safe path?
