During my initial setup for Freya (on Fedora Workstation) a compile / link error occurred (on examples) referencing libudev-dev.
Googling showed the Fedora installation requires
sudo dnf install -y systemd-devel
which solved the issue.
The same google result implied
sudo apt-get install libudev-dev
should be completed for Ubuntu & Debian variants.
(Sorry - no details on Google reference)
This issue raised to update development-setup instruction for fedora, and investigate for ubuntu / debian.
