Hi!

It wasn't a mistake; it was part of a large PR to make many icons (~500) less blurred when rendered at 16x16 px (which is the default size for icons in VS Code). See #2225.

However, in this case, it might have ended up being too big compared to the previous one, because it doesn't respect the margins:

It might be worth revisiting this one.
