M5Stack keyboard on T-Echo

So I just added a magnetic M5STACK keyboard port to my T-Echo (For that sweet standalone vipe 👌)

But I have a problem 😫
When I tested the idea 4 month ago, everything worked flawlessly. The ink screen showed each letter i typed without updating the whole screen. And maybe updating everything each 10 character or something.

but now 4 month later.
When I start typing it shows the first letter, and stops. I can still type but it will only show if I go though the carousel windows and back to my message again.

So what is up?
It defeats the whole purpose if I have to do that all the time.
