Method to render mod/etc. (tracker) music files tracker to stems?

Classically, module music files (.mod) are 4 channels, which makes it easy there.

Newer formats like xm can have more.

Idk what approach to muxing would work, I don't have a deep an understanding of formats and conventions.

Something automated there, however basic at first, doubling up etc., maybe some element of heuristic-based later?

This is a great idea. This can be used as a sanitary check if our n channel enabled SoundSource API works nice.

Nope! I'm struggling through with my LPP3 script atm, soo close to actually wanting to DJ with it, can't split my attention (aside from my structured procrastination alternative of sewing, or watching Death in Paradise), thanks for asking though!
