What are the advantages of using @nrwl/next over @nrwl/workspace:run-commands?

We are in the process of installing Nx in our current yarn + lerna monorepo. We have a next.js app and I was wondering what are the advantages of using the @nrwl/next plugin:

"targets": {
        "build": {
          "executor": "@nrwl/next:build",
          "outputs": ["{options.outputPath}"],
          "options": {
            "root": "apps/minuscule.dev",
            "outputPath": "dist/apps/minuscule.dev"
          },
          "configurations": {
            "production": {}
          }
}

as compared to simply using @nrwl/workspace:run-commands like this in our workspace.json ?
