Should footer include a Product Name and Link?

Footer bar should have a clear mention of the product (Kiwix Hotspot) with a link to the product page.

I see no value in this. Hotspot users have no interest in being reminded here that this is served by the Kiwix Hotspot product and the link would be even more useless in most cases.

I can see how this might be useful for the online demo usecase though…

The product should be the best advertisement. No branding it and clearly indicating: name, version, editor, how to get help etc... it simply not something I will argue about long. It has to be done, whatever how it is done.

Footer is IMHO one of the most accessible and obvious/common way.

We have decided that the About page #22 will be reachable from a prominent top-menu entry; removing the need for footer name+link.
