AirPlay does not support power control.

Ever since upgrading to 2.4.0b21 and later my AirPlay speakers cannot be turned off/on anymore.

The Dynamic Group (AirPlay) I had in 2.4.0b20 stopped working, kept loading and couldn't select. I removed it and recreated it after upgrading to b21 and the new one works.

The Dynamic Group does still work with on/off. Only the direct AirPlay speakers are affected.

It this a bug or intended change? If it's supposed to be this way I need to change my Blueprint, Automations and Dashboard as I was doing things on turn_on/turn_off actions.

I am using HA OS (x86-64) on bare metal.

• 5x KEF LSX II
• 1x KEF LSX II LT
• 1x Sony TA-AN1000

All through AirPlay.

Sorry we haven’t had time to update the docs yet but look in the player settings at the new power options. Try the fake option for example.

We had fake before as default indeed but got lots of complaints because people didnt get the need for power.
Now it all based on user choice and ofc if the player needs power control by default, that will be the default setting

I stumbled on this discussion because I have the same issue. However, turning on "fake" in the settings doesn't seem to work. I've restarted the server (2.4.0b23) and HA, but I'm still getting the same error.

Did you save the setting per speaker? If you go into the settings of the Players it is still set with the Fake enabled?

Ah, no, I didn't. I thought it was an airplay-wide thing. Thank you!

Is it possible to set the default state to 'off' when the add-on is started? Like it was before the change?

I can do it through an Automation, but would rather have it handled in Music Assistant itself.
