If you try to do:

$ tmux -CC
$ ssh some-address
... after logged in ...
$ sudo -s

For some reason the coprocess doesn't correctly output the data into the tmux session.

Ah, is that the problem I've been having then? thanks for figuring this out for me. I wonder if this is a bug in iTerm though. It is in fact an iTerm bug, and it affects all coprocesses.

This seems to be fixed in the latest iterm2 version 3 beta I just downloaded today.
