Cannot open custom settings dialog -- exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0"

ubuntu 1104 with PIXMA MP 140; can scan with standard options. Other functions (crop, preview or transform) seem to work ok. Appears in both the bin file (running the jar directly) and the deb installation. Tried with both jre 1.7 and jre 1.8. Great job, this program was very much needed. Thanks.
