yes, it seems for 2D only.
i had tried https://github.com/mebjas/html5-qrcode
it works for both 1/2 D.
but i really like instascan, it's easier to use, hope it be fixed soom.

that I agree HTML5QR is easy to use, but will harder custom the height of reader scale vh which any mobile device, especially in iPhone after custom the height of reader, I can not scanner any code.
