          My name is Shreyas Kanjalkar and that is my dog in my pfp. His name is Spiky. Cute right?
          I am a Masters Student studying Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology (Gatech) in Atlanta, Georgia. I have done masters in Robotics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, WPI.
          I did my undergrad in Mechanical Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology. During my time at WPI, I have grown interest and affection towards Software Engineering.
          Now I wish to be able to work in the industry. I am still learning about all there is to offer about Computer Science. My main interest is in cloud computing and distributed systems, hoping to work in the industry on thost topics.
        </p>
        <p>When I am not working, I enjoy watching and playing chess. I relgiously follow Formula 1 and no, I am not a "Big 3" fan. I am McLaren life long fan. I am currently taking a break from Dota2 and sometimes I click circles on osu!</p>

                <div class="section_title">Building 3D model of an object from 2D images</div>
                <div class="about_section">
                <span style="text-align:justify; display:block;">Imagine you are given a set of images of an object, and you wish to create a 3D model of it. This is done by this project, where we applied the the classical approach; Structure from Motion, to generate the model.
                This method has several drawbacks, one of which is it performs badly when there is lighting issues(reflection) from the object as it makes it difficult to find features in the image. We then tried the state of the art NeRF deep learning method to see a machine overcomes it.</span>

                  It provides a scalable and fault-tolerant approach to maintain an up-to-date view of active members in a distributed network.</span>

                <div class="section_title">Credit Scheduler with Load Balancer in OS</div>

                <span style="text-align:justify; display:block;">Implemented a Credit Scheudler, based on Application based user threads and kernel threads. First kernel threads are created based on the number of CPU cores available in the system. After that each thread is assigned 128 user threads that work on the specified Kernel Thread initially. All user threads work on their specific part of the applicaiton. Credit Scheduler following Xen logic was implemented, with heuristic to improve performance by 43% using Credit Scheduler over O(1) Priority Scheduler.
                  Load balancing is done using a simplistic approach, that when a kthread becomes IDLE, it finds a Kthread that is not idle and picks up the uthreads from its active queue and then adds it to its own active queue. All of this is done atomically, so whatever changes that involve data change requires a lock.</span>

                  <span style="text-align:justify; display:block;">In this project of lichess database, I gained valuable experience in several areas of software development.
                    First and foremost, I became proficient in SQL and learned how to write complex queries to retrieve and manipulate data from the database. Additionally, I worked extensively with Flask and SQLAlchemy, using these technologies to build a powerful backend that could handle requests from the frontend.
                    Finally, I became familiar with Postman, a tool that allowed me to easily test and debug my backend code by checking the results from the frontend.

                <span style="text-align:justify; display:block;">This was our project in Path Planning for a 2D Robot. Given an area of the environment of simple environment, we found locations of camera locations such that all the edges of environment are guarded at all times.
                We added some constraints to how much degrees it spans and its length. Using these locations, we tried to construct a watchman route. A watchman route is the route which a mobile security guard can take to visit every single edge of
              the given environment in the shortest amount of time and route. We constructed these routes using Travelling Salesman Problem. The route is "optimal" but only in the context of discretized world. The more we discretize the environment, the better result we will get.</span>

                  <span style="text-align:justify; display:block;">This is a side project I did for fun in order to learn how to work with virtual servers without any gui. I used AWS as the platform to deploy my code.
                    This project is in conjunction with my other project awsWebsite, which uses the code from this project as its backend to run the FaceSwap. I also learnt about CI while deploying this project, using pytest.
                    The final goal is to use all these projects to develop a full stack project for FaceSwap.

                <span style="display:block;">PID control for RRP robot. This was our project for Robotics, where we simulated a RRP robot using a PID controller to reach a number of locations in Gazebo.
                We created a server to communicate joint values being published and subscribed. We also implemented a inverse kinematics model for the robot to keep track of joint values to reach the desired set of locations. We then plotted those values to see the trajectory of joint values.</span>
