This came up during Flat Camp, the docs around querying taxonomy terms need to be updated.

I need to clarify this is completely true before documenting but I believe that...

  • When you query terms without specifying a site or locale, the same terms will be returned multiple times (returned as LocalizedTerm objects). Once for each site.
  • When you query terms with a specified site or locale, you'll only get terms returned for that site.
