What we want is to be able to get meaningful log analysis from our Varnish logs so we can analyze trends.

We have an edge case where we want to omit queries coming from the cache repopulation.

Probably a tool like awstats properly configured is what we need.

Hey Bob I think this one might have hit a dead end where the complexity of proper log parsing was overrevving vs. effort. Let's connect on this one so we can park it.

Agreed! We had looked into a combination of Loki, Prometheus, and Grafana, but the results was overly complex for the results that it provides for us. I think we can park this as mostly unnecessary for now, but a simple parsing solution looking for URLs and error codes that stem from those are really all we need.
