When I press the power button to activate sleep mode, pressing the button a second time will wake the device. However, the screen orientation will change to Landscape (flipped) in gnome settings. This happens every time it's very irritating to have to navigate to gnome settings upsidedown just to correct the orientation.
I'm using the steam os session and I'm reaching the desktop by going to power -> switch to desktop. I haven't tried using a proper desktop session by enabling gdm and disabing sddm. I will attempt this now and I'll report back.
The screen orientation problem does NOT happen in gaming mode (the "normal" mode with the dedicated steam big picture interface).
What did you expect to happen?
I expected my screen orientation would NOT be effected by putting the device to sleep. The devices screen orientation settings should remain the same between sleeping and waking.
Update!
I have tested sleep in a normal desktop session by disabling sddm.service and enabling gdm.service .
I can confirm that the screen orientation problem does NOT occur after waking from sleep. And only appears to effect desktop sessions activated from game mode by going to "power -> switch to desktop"
