Safari 9 has a pretty sweet new overlay status bar. If anything, we should re-skin to match it. The only thing it's missing is the longurl support. Otherwise, there's very little reason to use Minimal Status Bar anymore...

That is true. This plugin served us well for a long time though. Thanks for all the hard work!

Thanks for creating and maintaining this extension. Your attention to detail really made Minimal Status Bar look and feel indistinguishable from a native Safari feature.

Since we're on the thanking train, I'd like to thank everyone who sent a PR in. Recently others have been the ones pulling all the weight.

It is good to see the new Safari will support a more minimal status bar!

I will be sad to see MSB go, but on the other hand I would’ve dropped it anyway because of Apple’s insistence to make people pay for extension development.

I too just removed MSB from Safari in favor of the new statusbar, but wanted to thank @visnup and contributers for the work on this awesome extension! Done a great job.

I didn't notice that they've finally caught up with all other browsers out there.

Thanks for everything guys, it was a minimal, but effective trip.. ;)

Expand shortened URLs is a very useful feature and missing part of Safari itself.

While I using Safari Version 9.1 (11601.5.17.1), it seems Minimal-Status-Bar don't work well.
Shortened URLs stay what they are.

Maybe you could fix it? If you have time ...
Thx

I came here to download minimal-status-bar while setting up a new machine and just discovered in this thread that Safari added an equivalent bar almost two years ago! Thanks @visnup for this extension. I was happily using it until yesterday!
