Hi there - this is intentional to match the app slider to the control center slider. You can do three things:

  • Use software upscaling instead (turn off "Allow native XDR upscaling" under the display's settings)
  • Configure the XDR brightness scale ninimum to 0 nits (expand Native XDR settings for that) - this will give the slider (and keyboard) a huge chunk to super-finetune ultra low brightness leveles.
  • Allow combined brightness in native XDR mode (expand Native XDR settings for that) - this will allow software dimming as usual below 20% (to tweak this you might want to change the scale minimum to 4 nits however or redefine the dimming point from 20% to 10%).
