Customise TextField

This is the TextField I want to make the default:

<TextField
    text50
    color='gray'
    placeholder='your email'
/>

Which looks like this:

But when I comment text50 and color='gray' out and add this code:

ThemeManager.setComponentTheme('TextField', {
  'text50': true,
  'color': 'gray'
});

It does not work...

How can I fix this?
