Threat Model Analysis for spf13/cobra

Description: An attacker crafts input with malicious commands or flags, exploiting insufficient input validation after Cobra parsing. This can lead to the application executing unintended actions or commands due to vulnerabilities in how the application processes Cobra-parsed arguments.

Impact: Command injection, arbitrary code execution on the system, data breaches, denial of service.

Cobra Component Affected: cobra.Command.Execute() - the execution flow after Cobra parses arguments and flags.

Risk Severity: Critical

Mitigation Strategies:

  • Strict Post-Parsing Input Validation: Implement robust validation of user inputs after Cobra parsing, before using them in application logic.
