The latter is needed for large input grids to MOAB.
MOAB cannot read these grids so we don't want to put extra effort into supporting them.
This will beetter accommodate MOAB

This does seem to work. I made a branch to test MOAB in Compass. Unfortunately, it is enough slower than ESMF for lat-lon to MPAS meshes to not be a feasible alternative until we can work out some kinks. |
