Looks great so far @cgaarden. I some minor suggestions inline. You should also add New+ to the toc.yml in the dev-environment folder.

This is looking good. We should be ready to go when it's released. If you push any other changes in the meantime, I will review those too. Thanks!
@cgaarden The PT PR linked to this is merged, but this docs PR is still in Draft. Is it ready to go when the release goes out? |
@cgaarden Could you help me understand the New+ feature a little better. I'd like to expand the docs page a bit to explain the feature and the templates. We're starting to get some customer feedback asking how the templates work and whether New+ has a template format that should be followed. Is it just matter of putting templates from other programs into your folder(s)? Like put an .xslt file in there so you can click it from the menu to open Excel with that template? Or is there a specific template format/schema that must be followed? Thanks! |
Hi @alvinashcraft Yes that's basically it - you can take any file (.docx, xslx, etc.) or folder (with 0 or more files or subfolders) and copy it into the templates folder (Right click -> New+ -> Open Templates) Here's a very old video - I can record a new one too if that is useful: https://youtu.be/MVhocy7N-VU |
Context:
New+ is a brand new PowerToys for the File Explorer that enables users to create files and folders from a personalized set of templates.
PR:
This PR contains the initial documentation for PowerToys New+ that is currently under development.
