Terminology

Feature

Something that is big enough to bring value to the user.

Task

A work item for a team member. It should contain simple requirements and definition of done.

Umbrella Issue

Used to group other issue to see when particular "big piece" is done. One good use is Feature, see #3 for example.

Chore

A task that has small business impact, but has to be done anyway. Typically a task that nobody want's to do, but everyone would be glad if somebody else would do it.

Rules

  • Use Zenhub to simplify management
  • Create Umbrella issues with "umbrella label" to group multiple pieces
    • reference umbrella issues from others
  • Optionally turn Features to Umbrellas
  • Organize issues into milestones for planning and deadlines
