Spot is a browser extension that adds a search bar overlay for easier searching ⚡

Installation 🚀

Web Store links are coming soon! For now, you can install Spot using the packed extension file.

1. Download the latest release (spot-build-vX.X.X.zip) from the releases page

2. Unzip the file

3. Open chrome://extensions/ in your browser, enable the developer mode toggle, and click on "Load unpacked"

4. Select the unzipped folder

5. In chrome://extensions/shortcuts, set Spot's keyboard shortcut to to match the new tab shortcut (Ctrl/Cmd + T) for quick access. (optional)

6. Enjoy! 🎉

• Search bar overlay: Quickly search the web without leaving your current tab, with a single keyboard shortcut
• Search suggestions: Uses Google's search suggestions for the full search experience
• Direct URLs: enter a URL to navigate directly to it, including localhost and file:// URLs
• New tab replacement: Replace the new tab page with Spot for a seamless search experience
