Quickstart instructions: Windows (copy paste friendly)
Minor console knowledge required (traversing directories with
cd
).
Download kameloso.exe
from Releases, then open up a cmd.exe
or Powershell console window (or equivalent terminal emulator) and navigate to where you saved it. If it warns that it blocked the download of a dangerous file, just override it and download anyway. It's safe. It just doesn't seem to like D programs for some reason.
kameloso.exe --get-openssl
This will download and launch the installer for OpenSSL for Windows, required for SSL servers and for some plugins to access web resources. Make sure to install to Windows system directories when asked.
kameloso.exe --gedit
This will create a new configuration file and open it with a graphical text editor (default Notepad). Enter your server information, username, passwords and passes, home and guest channels, administrator accounts, etc. Take a minute to scroll down and see what settings there are to change.
If you want to connect to Twitch, log into www.twitch.tv
in a browser with the account you want to connect as, then run the following instead of the --gedit
step above.
kameloso.exe --setup-twitch
Follow the on-screen instructions. If you have a bot account you want to use and you'd rather not log out your main account, simply use a private/incognito window.
kameloso.exe
This will make the bot read the configuration file and connect to your server.
